* 札幌Ruby会議2012のチケット発売後の障害に対する対策の方針と二次販売の見通しについて #sprk2012

札幌Ruby会議2012実行委員のしまだです。

先日発生しました札幌Ruby会議2012のチケット発売後の障害への対応と二次販売の見通しについて報告いたします。

具体的には、以下の3点についてです。

• キャンセル待ち不具合の影響を受けた方への対応について
• Paypalの決済が通らなかった方への対応について
• チケットの二次販売について

キャンセル待ち不具合の影響を受けた方への対応について

先日報告いたしましたキャンセル待ち不具合の影響を受けた方々につきまして、 二次販売の前に優先してチケットを手配する準備を進めております。この障害の影響のあった方々について、本編、懇親会ともに確実にチケットが手配できるように調整ができました。どうかご安心してお待ち下さい。

また、該当される方へは個別にメールをお送りしておりますので、そちらもあわせてご確認ください。

Paypalの決済が通らなかった方への対応について

チケット発売後、数名の方から Paypal で決済が通らないという事象の報告をいただきました。こちらについてもDoorkeeperチームと共に現象を確認しましたが、Doorkeeper のログ上では Paypal と正しくやり取りを行えておりました。

この件に関しては、同様の現象が起きた際に Doorkeeper チームが Paypal に問い合わせたところ、与信などにも関わることなので情報を提供することができないこと、問題の解決にあたってはアカウント所有者からの直接の連絡が必要であるとの回答があったとのことです。

この問題の解決についてこれ以上のアクションをとれないため、PayPalで決済が通らない問題の影響を受けた皆様について、以下のように対応致します。

- 二次販売については「当日現金支払」も可能な状態としてチケット販売を行う

会期当日までに PayPal で決済を行っていただければ一次販売と同様に事前決済の扱いとなりますが、決済が(行われなかった|行えなかった)場合には会期当日に現金にてお支払をいただくことで受付をさせていただきます。

チケットの二次販売について

本編、懇親会ともに、あまりにも早く完売してしまったため、実行委員で追加販売ができるよう会場側も含めて調整を行いました。 その結果、会場側の理解とご協力(※)もあり、本編をあと70名、懇親会をあと110名ほど追加できる見込みが立ちました。

キャンセル待ち不具合の方々へのチケット手配後、残った枚数について二次販売を行いたいと思います。

PayPal決済の問題の影響を受けた方は、キャンセル扱いとなってしまっているため、お手数をおかけしますが二次販売開始後に再度お申し込みをいただきますようお願いいたします。もし二次販売前に sapporo2012@rubykaigi.org までご連絡をいただけました場合は、こちらで二次販売前にキャンセル待ちへ登録させていただきます。

また、二次販売は上記にあります Paypal の決済ができない方々向けに当日支払いを可能な状態で販売を行いますが、できるだけ事前決済にご協力をいただけますと、大変助かります。

日程などについては、決まり次第またRuby会議日記でお知らせいたしますので、今しばらくお待ちください。

* Plan for handling trouble with first round of ticket sales and secondary sales of Sapporo RubyKaigi 2012 #sprk2012

This is Koji, the organizing director of Sapporo Ruby Kaigi 2012.

I'm reporting on the plan for dealing with trouble around ticket sales and prospects of a second round of sales.

This deals with the following three points.

• Those affected by the issue with the waitlist
• Those who could not purchase the tickets via Paypal
• About a second round of sales

Those affected by the issue with the waitlist

We are going to give people who suffered from an issue with the waitlist a chance to purchase tickets during a second round of sales.

We have managed to secure enough tickets for both the main event tickets and the party tickets.

We've already sent the affected individuals emails.

Those who could not purchase the tickets via PayPal

Since the ticket sales opened, we have been informed some people could not purchase tickets via PayPal. The Doorkeeper team and us traced the phenomena and confirmed that the users were being correctly handed off to PayPal.

The Doorkeeper team is unable to get further information about individual transactions because of privacy restrictions which allow only the customer themselves to make requests about transactions.

There is nothing we can do about this, so we decided to allow those who could not purchase the ticket via Payapl during the first round, to purchase the tickets during the second round and pay the fee at the actual location.

It will still be possible to pay via paypal as last time.

About the secondary round of sales for Sapporo RubyKaigi 2012

Tickets for the main event and also the official reception party sold out much faster than we anticipated.So, we had a talk with site managers about to arranging additional tickets.

Consequently, in cooperation with sites(*), we are able to increase 70 tickets for the main event, and 110 tickets for the official reception party.

At first, we will sell those tickets to those who are already on waitlist, and leftover tickets will be on sale as a second round.

Those who could not purchase the ticket via PayPal, your tickets' status is "cancelled" right now. Please purchase the tickets with the secondary sales. We are now letting people pay at the door. If you had issues completing payment the first time and still wish to attend Sapporo Ruby Kaigi 2012, please contact us sapporo2012@rubykaigi.org before the second round of sales.

Despite this, if at all possible, please use the Paypal to pay for your tickets.Thank you for your cooperation.

The date for the second round of sales is to be determined in RubyKaigi Nikki. So, please stay tuned.

(*) About the official reception party, the Sapporo Grand Hotel will let us use another restaurant on same floor to expand the capacity.

* 札幌Ruby会議2012の各種チケットキャンセル待ち不具合についてのお詫び #sprk2012

札幌Ruby会議2012実行委員のしまだです。

6/28(木)の19:00より発売を行いました札幌Ruby会議2012の本編チケットならびに懇親会チケットにつきましてキャンセル待ちをされていた方々で、気がついたら参加申し込みが無効となってしまっているという事象が発生しております。

この件について、Doorkeeper 側に確認してもらったところ、キャンセル待ちの方が参加申し込み可能な状態となってから決済を行うまでの時間の設定の仕方に不具合があることがわかりました。

Doorkeeper 側からのアナウンスは以下の通りです。

つきましては、上記現象で参加申し込みが無効となってしまった方々についてもきちんとチケットが行き届くよう状況の整理と対策を行いました上で、改めてご案内をさせていただきます。

* An apology for an issue affecting the purchase of tickets for Sapporo RubyKaigi 2012 #sprk2012

This is Koji, the organizing directory of Sapporo RubyKaigi 2012.

Those who signed up to the waitlist for Sapporo RubyKaigi 2012 main event or the official party experienced an issue where their registration was cancelled before they were given enough time to pay.

This issue, confirmed by Doorkeeper's team, was caused by a bug where people coming in from the waitlist did not get a chance to pay for the event, as they were canceled within a few minutes of being notified.

The issue is described by Doorkeeper's team:

Regarding the above, we are thoroughly investigating those who were affected by it, and devising a plan for the people who were unable to purchase a ticket before. We will provide more information about this as soon as possible.

We are very sorry to all the people who had their excitement crushed by this situation. Please accept our deep apologies.

Right now, the organizing team is coming up with a strategy for dealing with this, so we humbly ask you to wait until we can provide you with more information.
